About me
My name is Sylvia Babke, I am an artist and healing activist based in Portugal, Alentejo.
Besides my work as a gardender, I combine my two Master degrees in Sociology and Visual Ethnography in my research about love and community. You find my most recent published work on my Blog.
I believe, that the healing of individual and collective trauma lies in the power of love and community.

My first communal healing breakthrough I witnessed by walking the 12 step program, a spiritual program to free oneself from addiction within a group based fellowship.
Having gained trust by the sharing and caring for eachother, I then embarked on a journey of founding and full-time living in different communities.

Touching the matter of food souvereignity, community gardens became my favorite work environment to translate academic knowledge into practical expierence. As a social vessel for group processes and interaction, the garden offers a wide range of holistic healing.

After teaching for 13 years I stepped out of the academic system and moved 2018 to Portugal. Having been a mentor within a fellowship for six years and co-holding many many community circles equipped me well to now give you a good experience!

You can book me as a facilitator for your very own journey and/or support my work by donating.
